The Benefits of Pilates
Pilates delivers strong, measurable benefits for your body and mind — especially if you want strength without strain, mobility without pain, and a calmer nervous system. Here’s a clear, structured breakdown so you can see exactly what it does for you
Core Strength & Stability
Pilates is built around deep core activation, especially the transverse abdominis — the muscle that acts like a natural corset.
Core activation — improves posture, reduces back pain, and stabilises your spine.
Pelvic stability — essential for balance, walking, and preventing hip/lower back issues.
Functional strength — strength you can actually use in daily life, not just in the gym
Flexibility & Mobility
Pilates lengthens muscles while strengthening them — a rare combination.
Improved mobility — smoother movement in hips, shoulders, and spine.
Better flexibility — reduces stiffness and helps prevent injury.
Healthy alignment — corrects imbalances from sitting, driving, or repetitive work.
Pain Reduction & Injury Prevention
Pilates is widely used in physiotherapy because it strengthens without compressing joints.
Lower back pain relief — activates stabilising muscles that support the spine.
Posture correction — reduces neck, shoulder, and mid‑back tension.
Rehab support — gentle, controlled movements ideal for recovery.
Mental Health & Stress Relief
Pilates is mindful movement — you focus on breath, control, and precision.
Stress reduction — breathwork calms the nervous system.
Mind-body connection — improves focus and emotional regulation.
Better sleep — gentle evening sessions help unwind the body.
Cardiovascular & Weight Management Benefits
While not as intense as HIIT, Pilates still supports metabolic health.
Improved circulation — controlled breathing boosts oxygen flow.
Lean muscle development — increases resting metabolic rate.
Low-impact conditioning — ideal if you want fitness without joint stress.
Experience the benefits of Pilates with our group Mat and Reformer classes, designed to improve your strength, flexibility, and core stability. Whether you’re new to Pilates or a seasoned individual, our small group sessions ensure personalised attention with a maximum of eight participants per class.
In our Mat Pilates classes, you’ll use your body weight and small props to build strength and control, while Reformer Pilates incorporates specialized equipment for a dynamic, resistance-based workout.
For those seeking a more tailored approach, we also offer individual Pilates sessions. These one-on-one sessions are perfect if you’re looking for customized exercises that target your unique needs and goals, or if you’d like to deepen your practice with more focused instruction. There is also an option to have a Musculoskeletal assessment with the physiotherapist who will work with the Pilates instructor to structure the correct program.
Whether you choose group or individual sessions, our certified instructors are here to guide you every step of the way. Bookings are essential, so be sure to secure your spot today! For more information, please call our office.
An initial assessment by one of our physiotherapists is optional before starting our Pilates classes. This way we’ll know your level and limitations and can prepare a customized Pilates program for you.
You can start with one individual Pilates session before you join our supervised Pilates classes on the days and times of your choice. See pricing information below.
Maximum 8 people per Pilates class, Maximum 4 people per Reformer class. You’ll follow your personal Pilates program and a certified Pilates instructor will always be at hand for guidance and correction.

These ladies are very experienced Instructors. Zehra with a gentle approach and Cat with a positive can-do attitude. Both are excellent instructors and happy to help and guide you through your classes.
A little bit on both instructors.
Years of working in hospitality took a toll on my body, leading to dysfunction and ongoing discomfort. This experience ultimately inspired me to seek a new path—one focused on healing, movement, and long-term wellbeing.
In 2005, I completed my Clinical Pilates training, followed by Clinical Yoga studies in 2007. Through years of dedicated personal practice and the privilege of teaching others, I’ve experienced firsthand how powerful mindful movement can be in improving posture, strength, breathing, and overall quality of life.
My teaching approach blends the principles of both Pilates and Yoga, shaped by my own journey and professional training. I aim to support and inspire each individual to move better, feel stronger, and develop a more balanced body and a quiet mind.
Additional Training:
• Pregnancy Pilates
• Children’s Yoga
• Kinetic Link Training
I come from a strong retail management background and have always had a passion for high‑level triathlon competition. After many successful years running my own coaching business, my journey naturally evolved toward Pilates, where I discovered a new way to help people move well and feel strong. I became a certified instructor in 2021.
I’m confident in class design and delivery, offering clear, easy‑to‑follow instruction that supports every client, no matter their level. I love helping people achieve their goals and I’m committed to encouraging movement for all ages and abilities.
